No time to
organize and your desk is a mess? Perhaps you should call
Timesavers Services.
That could
very well describe what Brian Callanan, president of Integrated
Corporate Technologies, did before he relied on the Cooper
City business that assisted him in getting better organized.
Licensed,
bonded and insured, Timesavers Services is the brainchild
of its president, Diane Hatcher. Established in 1998 by
the former educator and claims administrator, this one-woman
operation has helped clients throughout South Florida get
more organized.
With an overwhelming
demand for her services, Hatcher said her aim is to get
individuals to maintain organized working environments.
Today,
more than ever, people are balancing hectic and fast-paced
schedules with the responsibilities of their careers. I
try to incorporate small changes into their daily routines
to help them become more efficient, she said.
Understanding
the importance of being organized, Hatcher, 48, decided
to utilize her talents and branch out as a first time entrepreneur.
While she
initially offered a variety of services that included personal
shopping and running errands, Hatcher decided to direct
her energy towards organizing filing systems in offices
and homes.
Familiar with
the services provided by Hatchers business, Callanan
said hes pleased with the result she accomplished.
Its
really important for me to be able to locate things that
I need throughout the day. Timesavers Services is a business
that I would highly recommend for anyone looking to stay
on top of things in his office, he said.
In order to
help her clients become organized, Hatcher said she first
evaluates their individual needs.
With their
goals in mind, she then tries to understand what organizational
skills have not been successful for them.
We each
have a different way that we prefer things to be organized.
The challenge is getting people to implement minor changes
that will have a lasting effect on the way they function
professionally, she said.
The following
are a few tips Hatcher recommends that could assist you
in becoming better organized:
Create a daily to-do list, by prioritizing tasks
Clear your desk of everything except the most important
and often used items
To avoid distractions, keep one project on desk at a time
Keep phone calls to a minimum, and make all business calls
first
Turn organizing into a continuous process by clearing your
desk weekly and files and cabinets semi-annually
Account Executive Meghan Nicoletti said that after her two-hour
session with Hatcher, she has noticed a change in the way
she organizes.
If Im
not organized, I have to work three times harder in order
to catch up. By simply following some of the tips I learned
from Diane, things have become easier to handle, she
said.
While this
was her first time using an organizing service, Nicoletti
said she is going to remain committed to following Hatchers
recommendations.
Timesavers
fees begin at $45 an hour, with a three hour minimum. In
addition, some business and administrative work such as
typing of databases is less.
To monitor
her clients progress, Hatcher makes a follow-up call
a week after their meeting.
The
key is to get people not to slip back into bad habits. Once
I make initial contact with them, I want to make sure that
they continue to follow my advice, she said. |
